“On September 7, 2024, the Hope for Lupus Foundation held its first HFL Cagayan Chapter General Assembly at Kainang Pilipino in Tuguegarao City, Province of Cagayan. This significant gathering was made possible through the efforts of dedicated leaders, including Dr. Marinette Jambaro, the only rheumatologist in the province and founder of the Cagayan Lupus Group, and Dr. Myolaine Hilario, the group’s head. They were joined by lupus advocates, members, and Hope for Lupus facilitators, all coming together for a memorable day of fun, games, and camaraderie.
A special highlight of the event was a Zoom call from HFL President & Founder, Usec. Em Aglipay-Villar, who graced the occasion with a brief yet impactful message to the lupus warriors in attendance. Her words of encouragement and support lifted spirits, reinforcing the Foundation’s unwavering commitment to reaching out to those living with lupus in the provinces.
The day was filled with high spirits as participants shared their personal experiences and lupus journeys, strengthening bonds and providing mutual support. This successful event was a testament to the power of unity and community in raising awareness and fostering resilience among people living with lupus.”
